Man arrested in robberies

NEW CASTLE — A North Hill man has been accused of committing two of armed robberies Sunday.

New Castle police yesterday arrested Brian Keith Misner, 23, of 117 Park Ave. for a robbery that took place at the Tic-Toc Food Mart on Highland Avenue. Through further investigation, police discovered that Misner allegedly committed a second armed robbery as well, this one at the El Dorado Motel in Shenango Township.

A search warrant was executed on Misner’s residence, police said, and items were found there that linked Misner to the robberies.

New Castle police have charged him with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, firearms not to be carried, prohibited offensive weapons and terroristic threats.

Shenango Township police are expected to file charges against Misner for the motel robbery.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
