New Castle man hurt in one-car accident

NEW CASTLE — A New Castle man was in the intensive care unit of an Ohio hospital Tuesday night after an accident Tuesday.

Mahoning Township police said Jake L. McPhatter, 42, of 119 E. Meyer Ave., was traveling east on Route 224, just east of Route 551, about 10:50 a.m. He went left of center and across the westbound lane, before traveling up a hillside and rolling three or four times, according to police.

McPhatter was in and out of consciousness as he was removed from the car, Police Chief Jim Morris said. He was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown. Officials there would not release his condition.

His car sustained major damage and was towed, according to police.

The road was dry, according to police, and no other cars were involved. Morris said the accident was a result of careless driving.

The road was closed and vehicles detoured while officials cleared the scene.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
