Woman arrested on warrants, drug charges

NEW CASTLE — A woman wanted on five bench warrants is now facing drug charges.

New Castle police charged Melissa Lorrain Tracy, 26, of 732 Oak St. with possession of drug paraphernalia and adulteration or misbranding a controlled substance.

She was arrested Saturday when police saw her walking on North Jefferson Street and knew she had active bench warrants from the Lawrence County Court of Common Pleas.

Officers said Tracy had a makeup bag containing five syringes, a crack pipe, two spoons with suspected heroin residue and a bag containing two Tramadol tablet.

She was arraigned by District Judge Melissa A. Amodie, who set bond at $1,000.
