NEW CASTLE —
A Neshannock Village woman is wanted for allegedly breaking into an apartment and assaulting two women there.
New Castle police say Brittney Flak, 19, of 461 Neshannock Ave., Apt. 15, is charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy to commit criminal trespass, simple assault and harassment.
Officers said Flak reportedly had an accomplice in the act who has not yet been identified.
Police were called to Wallace Avenue around noon Wednesday following reports that two people kicked in an apartment door and gone inside.
Upon entering the apartment, police encountered the victims. One of them said she is pregnant and was punched in the side of her stomach.
Police were told Flak’s alleged accomplice reportedly pushed the other woman against the kitchen table and hit her in the right side of her face.
The first victim then ran into the bathroom where, she said, Flak punched her numerous times, once near her stomach. The intruders then fled.
The victim told police Flak, who is known to her, has made threats against her and her unborn child on Facebook.
District Judge Melissa A. Amodie has issued a warrant for Flak’s arrest.

Man charged as store burglary accomplice
New Castle police have arrested a South Side man for his alleged role in a convenience store burglary. Alex John Benkosky, 21, of 821 S. Mercer St., is accused as an accomplice in the March 26 break-in at the Country Fair on Croton Avenue.

A New Castle man is accused of allegedly assaulting a Crestview Gardens woman. Police said Dajoi Taylor, 19, of 509 W. North St. allegedly hit an 18-year-old woman in the cheek with a purple eyebrow razor and pulled the weave out of her hair during an encounter around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Vacant house burns on South Side
A vacant South Side house burned Monday morning. New Castle firefighters were called at 12:50 a.m. to 510 Galbreath St. They said the structure “was fully involved” when they arrived and flames could be seen on all four sides of the building.

A Detroit man reported to New Castle police he had been pistol whipped by two men in Crestview Gardens. The man told police the incident occurred around 3 p.m. Wednesday on Parkwood Court.

Lawrence County Housing Authority employees cleaning a vacant unit sparked a blaze Monday, according to city firefighters. The fire just before noon in the Halco Drive apartment caused $10,000 damage to the kitchen, they said.

An Ohio man was injured in a fall at McConnell’s Mill State Park Monday afternoon. Cody Captain, 26, of Struthers, was visiting the park with a cousin, Sean Robertson, and taking photos at Kildoo Falls when he fell about 15 to 20 feet.
