NEW CASTLE —
•Shots fired. Someone reported hearing gunshots in the area of Halco Drive around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Police found no evidence in the area.
•Theft. A DVD, an electronic game set and groceries were stolen Feb. 7 from a woman who had left them at the New Castle Area Transit Authority bus terminal in Mahoningtown.
•Theft. An electronic game set was stolen Feb. 8 from an apartment in Crestview Gardens.
•Burglary. Copper pipe was stolen Feb. 8 from a house in the 1000 block of North Jefferson Street.
•Burglary. Copper pipe was stolen Sunday from a house in the 400 block of East Sheridan Avenue.
•Burglary. Copper pipe was stolen Sunday from a house in the 1000 block of Rose Avenue. Police said a man had been seen walking around the house outside.
•Theft. A hot water heater and copper pipe were stolen Saturday from the 1100 block of North Liberty Street. Police found two large cabinets with fluorescent lighting inside they said appeared to have been used for growing marijuana. Police have charged Glenn Lewis Hedrick III, 54, of 1145 N. Liberty St. with theft in connection with the incident.
•Theft. Angel Lee Samuels, 31, of 211 W. Moody Ave. and 717 N. Mercer St., is charged with theft for allegedly stealing items from Walgreen’s, then returning them. Police said she was seen putting several items into her purse inside a buggy.

New Castle firefighters responded to a gas leak Friday at the former Lincoln-Garfield school on Long Avenue. Assistant Fire Chief Mike Petrone said Columbia Gas received a call from someone in the 800 block of South Mercer Street about the smell of gas Friday morning.

Woman accused of taking money
A West Middlesex woman is facing multiple theft charges for allegedly using someone else’s ATM card. The amount of money involved is nearly $1,100.
Couple accused of theft from baseball field firm
A Scott Township business involved in producing professional baseball field surfaces was the victim of an alleged employee theft. A husband and wife from Boardman, Ohio, are facing theft and related charges.
Car strikes Neshannock school bus
A New Castle woman will be cited for failing to stop in time to avoid striking a stopped school bus. Neshannock police said Mary Clause struck the Neshannock bus, which had stopped in the 1800 block of Pulaski Road about 4 p.m. Wednesday.
North Hill man faces stalking charges
A North Hill man is facing charges for allegedly stalking a neighbor who complained he has been watching her. New Castle police have charged Donald Dean Crews, 53, of 228 E. Fairmont Ave. with two counts each of stalking and harassment.
Man, 61, accused of raping girl
A Wayne Township man is lodged in the Lawrence County jail, accused of raping a 14-year-old girl. Steven Louis Haynes, 61, of 4626 Ellwood Road was charged by state police in an alleged incident that occurred in February or April of last year at his home.
