Robber steals woman’s purse

NEW CASTLE — An East Side woman told police a man had entered her house and stole her mother’s purse.

The woman, who lives in the 600 block of East Lutton Street, told New Castle police she arrived home around 10:30 p.m. Friday and locked the front door. She then went to the basement and heard her 83-year-old mother scream from upstairs.

She ran back upstairs where she saw a masked man dressed in gray run to the front door. She said he told her, “Lady, I have a knife.”

He ran out the front door and she followed him into the alley, but he got away, she told police.

Her mother told police the man demanded her purse, which was on the floor next to where she was sitting, then took it and ran out. She told police her purse contained $860 and two checkbooks.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
