Man wanted in alleged sexual assault

NEW CASTLE — A South Side man is accused of sexually assaulting and detaining a woman against her will.

Police have charged Carlos M. Harper of Apt. A, 103 Sharp St., in the Sciota Street projects, in connection with the incident, which reportedly occurred around 9 a.m. Sunday.

He is wanted on a warrant and faces one count each of simple assault, indecent assault, false imprisonment and harassment.

A woman reported to police that Harper had assaulted her at her home on Sharp Street and tried to force her to have intercourse with him after she had said no. She said she took photos on a cell phone of the incident.

She told police Harper also had slammed her down on a mattress on a bedroom floor, held her down and bit her on her left wrist, trying to force her to give him the phone.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
