NEW CASTLE —
Three women have been charged following an incident at a Crestview Gardens apartment.
Messaiha Janee Brewer, 20, of 305 Halco Drive, Tammora Lee Wise, 25, of 925 Winslow Ave., and T’ier Unik Payne, 37, of 512 Pearson St., were charged Tuesday in District Judge Melissa Amodie’s court.
Wise and Brewer were both charged with simple assault, conspiracy to commit simple assault, harassment and conspiracy to commit harassment. Brewer also was charged with criminal mischief. Payne was charged with conspiracy to commit simple assault and conspiracy to commit harassment.
According to New Castle police, a Crestview Gardens resident told officers that Brewer and Wise had gone to her apartment Feb. 11 and began assaulting her. She said Wise had pushed her and held her down on the floor while Brewer kicked her in the face multiple times. She said Brewer also had kicked a television off a stand, damaging the screen. She said the women left and she watched them get into a pickup truck driven by Payne.
The victim told police the assault was retaliation for an altercation she had had with Brewer earlier in the day.
All three are scheduled for preliminary hearings March 20.
