Rollover accident injures two people

NEW CASTLE — Two people were hurt in a rollover accident in Shenango Township.

According to Shenango Township police, the crash occurred around 6 p.m. Wednesday on the Route 422 bypass near the Route 65 exit.

Police said Jeffrey Zirwas, 40, of Imperial was traveling east when he hit an icy spot and left the road. His vehicle rolled over three times before coming to rest on its wheels.

Police said Zirwas and his 10-year-old son suffered injuries in the crash and were taken by ambulance to Ellwood City Hospital for treatment.
