Police: Man tests positive for morphine after accident

NEW CASTLE — A North Hill man was arrested after he allegedly ran over a stop sign, then left.

New Castle police have charged Alexander S. Masi, 24, of 304 E. Hazelcroft Ave. with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of accidents involving damage, in connection with the Dec. 27 collision that occurred around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of North Mercer Street and Moody Avenue.

Police said the stop sign was mangled and lying on the ground and a silver Ford Fusion driven by Masi was sitting at the intersection. The bumper was damaged with green paint.

Masi consented to a blood test and police said he tested positive for morphine.

He was sent a summons to appear in court.

No, that would be weird.
I don’t know. Next time I’m alone, I’ll ask.
