NEW CASTLE —
A New Castle man is in the county jail, accused of stabbing his older brother.
Antoine Depri Moss, 22, of 230 W. Lincoln Ave., is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
According to police, the victim, Anthony A. Moss Jr., 25, of 222 Wick Ave., said he and Antoine had been arguing about his brother’s personal problems about 4 a.m. Saturday at Antoine’s residence. He said Antoine stabbed him three times with a kitchen knife, then fled. He later returned and was taken into custody by police.
A woman told police Antoine was “throwing knives around” just prior to the stabbing and said she stood between the two men, trying to keep the incident from escalating.
Police said Anthony Moss sustained stab wounds near the left kidney area, left side and lower back. He was flown to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. An official there said Monday hospital policy is not to give conditions of crime victims and she would not confirm whether Moss is still a patient there.
District Judge Melissa Amodie set bond for Antoine Moss at $25,000.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. July 8 before District Judge Jennifer L. Nicholson.
