Vacant house burns in Wayne Township

NEW CASTLE — No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a vacant house in Wayne Township early Wednesday.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on 12th Street Extension around 12:30 a.m. Flames were showing through the roof of the structure when crews arrived.

Wayne Township Fire Chief Wes Cunningham said fighting the blaze posed no unusual problems, but noted there was some difficulty getting water to the site.

He added he had met with the state police fire marshal Wednesday regarding the incident.

In addition to firefighters from Wayne, others responded from the Ellwood City, Perry-Wurtemburg, Franklin, Chewton and New Sewickley departments.

Cunningham said there were no injuries, adding firefighters were on the scene for about three hours.

Regarding other details involving the blaze, Cunningham deferred to the state police fire marshal. Attempts to reach the fire marshal at the Butler station Wednesday were unsuccessful.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
