Man accused of burning woman with joint

NEW CASTLE — A New Castle resident is wanted after allegedly burning a woman with a marijuana cigarette during an argument.

New Castle police charged Gary DeWayne Milton, 31, of 305 Halco Drive with simple assault and harassment under the domestic violence act yesterday.

A woman told police that she and Milton had an argument around 8:30 p.m. Jan. 14 and he would not let her leave his apartment. She said she got away from him and ran to a neighbor’s place and he followed her inside and choked her and smacked her in the face. She said he also burned her on her chin with his cigarette. The neighbor called the police and Milton let the woman go, and he left, police said.

District Judge Melissa A. Amodie has issued a warrant for Milton’s arrest.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
