Four injured when car hits pole

NEW CASTLE — Two women and two children were taken to a hospital by ambulance after an accident on West State Street.

New Castle police said Nicole Miller, 27, of 23 S. Round St., was driving east on a bend around 10:20 a.m. Thursday when the right front wheel linkage broke on her car, causing it to hit a power pole.

Her car went off the road, hit a Bubble Bear car wash sign and stopped in the parking lot.

A witness said the right front wheel flopped over to the side.

Police said Miller and three passengers, Bariella Hunt, 1, and Giovanni Miller, 3, both of 23 S. Round St., and Delaney Lizanich, 23, of 1223 Savannah Road, all sustained minor to moderate injury and were taken to Jameson Hospital.

No information was available from the hospital.

Miller’s car was towed.
