On the Record: Today's births, police items, and common pleas sentences

•Attempted burglary. Someone tried to break into a house in the 300 block of Carl Street around 10 p.m. Thursday. A neighbor reported the male ran toward Shenango Township.

•Burglary. Someone broke into a home in the 100 block of East Euclid Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 6:50 p.m. Monday and stole a remote, two Wii video games, 12 DS games and six pieces of jewelry.

•Theft. Eleven wheels and tires and a winch were stolen from vehicles at Cascade Auto Wrecking, 415 S. Cascade St. between 5:30 p.m. Dec. 21 and 8:30 a.m. Monday.

•Accident arrest. Jamie Lee Klinesmith, 29, of 830 Harrison St. was charged yesterday for allegedly hitting a car near Thaddeus Stevens School on Harrison Street around 3 p.m. Dec. 5 and leaving the scene while allegedly under the influence of narcotics. Police said she submitted to a blood test. She faces two counts of driving under the influence.

•Child endangerment. James A. Saul, 57, of 1201 Cunningham Ave., is charged with endangering the welfare of children, driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a high rate of alcohol. Police said he picked up an elementary student from Thaddeus Stevens school Dec. 20 while he allegedly was intoxicated. A faculty member advised the school resource officer of the matter. The child was taken back into the school and the school officer arrested him.

•Theft. Four credit cards, a backpack, a wallet, cash, and an iPhone were stolen from a vehicle parked on South Jefferson Street near Home Street between 11:45 p.m. Tuesday and 1 a.m. Wednesday.

•Burglary. A silver gun with nine hollow-point bullets was stolen from a home in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue between 8 p.m. Dec. 15 and 10 p.m. Tuesday.

    A man shot during an alleged home invasion has been released from the hospital and jailed. Richard Andrew Javens, 43, of 3063 McClelland Ave. was discharged from Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh Saturday and immediately taken into custody on a warrant.

    A North Hill man arrested for allegedly having guns and drugs in his house is being extradited to Wyoming. After that, Michael Antonini IV, 21, will face multiple drug charges in Lawrence County, according to New Castle Police Chief Bobby Salem.

    A West Side man is in jail after police allegedly found suspected marijuana in his apartment. New Castle police arrested Robert Lee Gordon Jr., 39, of Apt. 601, McGrath Manor, at his home after executing a sealed search warrant there Wednesday.
