Man wanted for alleged robbery

NEW CASTLE — A West Side man is wanted in connection with an alleged robbery in the McGrath Manor parking lot.

A man reported to New Castle police he had been out with Richard Ward, 50, of 906 Emery St., around 8 p.m. Saturday and Ward had agreed to drive him to the apartment building in exchange for $10.

When they pulled into the parking lot, he told police, Ward told him to give him all his money.

He said he argued with Ward because he was to pay him only $10. He said as he tried to get out of Ward’s truck, Ward grabbed him by the arm and tried to stop him, so he threw $150 into the truck. Ward let go of his arm and drove away.

Ward was charged Monday with robbery, theft and receiving stolen property. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
