NEW CASTLE —
A Crestview Gardens woman told police she had been robbed while waiting for a ride on the city’s East Side.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. Monday on Forrest Street, according to New Castle police.
Officers said the 49-year-old woman flagged them down in the 700 block of East Washington Street and reported she had been going to meet a ride to Harbor Heights when a man in a silver Toyota sport utility vehicle stopped her and asked about a house on Forrest Street.
She said the man grabbed her by her coat collar and stole her wallet, then pulled her jacket off and took it, too.
