Reward now $1,000 in tortured cat case

NEW CASTLE — The Lawrence County Humane Society has upped the reward offered in the case of the tortured cat.

Susan Thompson, humane society board member, said the agency is now offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Initially, $200 was offered.

“We want to know who did this,” she said.

The white and gray cat, which has been named Hope, is on the road to recovery.

She was found Sunday in the High Street area of Union Township, hanged from a tree and burned. Most of her wounds are to her neck and back.

The cat was taken to North Memorial Animal Hospital for medical treatment. She has a temporary home and friends working to find her a permanent home.

Anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible is asked to contact Union Township police at (724) 652-5203.

I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
