•Accident. Police said Stephen A. Carbone, 21, of New Castle, was northbound on Brewster Road in North Beaver Township at 11:50 p.m. Sunday and failed to negotiate a curve. His car entered a ditch and hit a culvert pipe before returning to the road. Police said the he sustained a minor injury and was cited for a summary traffic violation.
•Burglary. Seven aluminum wheels, with a scrap valued of $122, were taken from Ray’s Tire Shop, Portersville Road in Wayne Township, between midnight Aug. 13 and 5 a.m. Aug. 14.
•Indecent exposure. Police said a man exposed himself to a New Wilmington woman about 2 p.m. Aug. 15. Officers said the incident took place on Cranberry Road, Wilmington Township.
•Burglary. A jewelry box and a glass jar with coins was taken from a Melvin Drive house between 1 and 6:40 p.m. Sunday.
•Theft from vehicle. A pack of cigarettes and lighter were taken from an unlocked vehicle on West Englewood Avenue overnight Thursday.

•Michael Lee Scurlock Jr., 19, of New Castle, driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
Robert K. McCartt, 67, of New Castle from Mary B. McCartt, 63, of Ford City, Pa. They were married Sept. 10, 2005.
Lisa Maria Henderson, 39, of New Castle from Robert Lee McHenry Jr., 43, of New Castle. They were married June 22, 2002.

Man jumps into Shenango River
New Castle police and fire departments were dispatched Wednesday morning after a man jumped into the Shenango River. Police were called at 11:35 a.m. and the fire department was notified about 10 minutes later.
Man facing drug charges
Charges filed against a city man stem from a July arrest, when police allegedly found him with marijuana. Dorian Allen Cullen, 31, of 209 E. Pearson St., is wanted for one count each of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, criminal trespass, manufacture of a controlled substance and possession or distribution of a small amount of marijuana, and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stabbing victims out of hospital, charges pending
A father and son stabbed on the South Side last week are out of the hospital. New Castle Police Chief Bobby Salem said the men are being interviewed and he expects charges to be filed later in the week.
Pair assists woman in escape from smoky bedroom
A woman was rescued Friday evening after reporting smoke in her mobile home. Cindy Zarlingo of 275 Dominick Lane, Mahoning Township, called 911 at 8:54 p.m. stating there was smoke in her bedroom and she was unable to get out.
Police identify victims in fatal Amish buggy crash
State police say a mother and her daughter died in a fatal collision between a truck and a horse-drawn Amish buggy. Authorities say 34-year-old Mary Byler, of New Wilmington, and her 11-year-old daughter, whose name was withheld, died in the crash Saturday on Pulaski-Mercer Road, Wilmington Township, Mercer County.
Father, son stabbed during argument
A father and son were stabbed during an argument Wednesday afternoon on New Castle’s South Side. Police Chief Robert Salem said in a press release that during an argument at 528 E. Long Ave. Joseph Bohizic stabbed his son Terry Kohlmetz in the buttocks area.
Girl hurt as vehicle slides
A 7-year-old girl suffered what police described as major injuries when she was hit by a car Tuesday. Kristina Ritenour of New Castle was injured in the accident just after 4 p.m. Tuesday on Columbiana Road in North Beaver Township.
City man facing drug charges
New Castle police charged Steven Kornard Houston, 21, 509 E. Lutton St., with possession and delivery of a controlled substance. Police filed the charges with District Judge Melissa A. Amodie.
Police gearing up for Shop With a Cop
Police in Lawrence County are getting ready to go Christmas shopping. They’re not buying for themselves. They are using thousands of dollars collected from the community to take lesser fortunate children on their annual “Shop With a Cop” spree at Walmart in Union Township.
