NEW CASTLE — Police have charged four people arrested during a drug raid Wednesday in Union Township.

Members of the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force executed a sealed search warrant at 27 Spring St. All four suspects live at that address, according to court records.

Those taken into custody were Ronald Clark II, 40; Kijhana Daniel Cummings, 39; Michael Scott Cottrill, 24, and Ashley Ostrawski, 24.

Police entered the home just before 6:30 a.m. A 4-year-old girl who was in the house was turned over to the custody of Lawrence County Children and Youth Services. After the occupants were removed, police used canines to search the house.

They found a loaded .38-caliber handgun, suspected heroin, marijuana and powdered cocaine, pills, steroids and $1,100.

All four were charged by the District Attorney’s Drug Task Force and arraigned by District Judge Jerry G. Cartwright.

Cottrill faces one misdemeanor count and one felony count of possession with intent to deliver, three counts of possession and one count each of endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $10,000.

Milwaukee catcher Martin Maldonado has been suspended five games for sucker punching Pittsburgh’s Travis Snider during a bench clearing brawl on Sunday. You OK with that suspension?

Yes. Seems fair.
No. Baseball NEVER gets it right in these situations. Should have been at least 20 games for his sucker punch into a pile of players.
Not sure, but I’d love to see baseball be like hockey and allow two guys to fight for a while before breaking it up. Let’s see how tough Maldonado is then.
