Police: Reports for Nov. 5

•Domestic violence. William Carter Knight, 27, of 104 Richlieu Ave., is charged with simple assault and harassment after a woman claimed Knight had assaulted her, grabbing her by the throat and striking her face about 6 p.m. Wednesday. She said he then took both of her cell phones and fled.

•Charged. Police charged Zachary Mazurek, 22, of Sharpsville with simple assault and harassment. Officers were told Mazurek punched a man at the hockey rink on Phelps Way on Sept. 30. Police said the victim, a participant in a hockey team, had gotten into an argument with Mazurek’s brother, another hockey player.

•Charged. Abraham Izzo, 53, of 1101 W. Clayton St., was charged with theft by deception after police said he agreed to do construction work for someone in the 800 block of Dushane Street and received $680, but did not provide the service.

•Charged. James P. Vitale, 42, 607 Newell Ave., was charged with eight counts of access device fraud and one count each of theft and receiving stolen property. Police were told Vitale had fraudulently obtained a bank card and used it to withdraw money between Oct. 21 and Oct. 25, racking up charges and fees totaling $450. Police said a surveillance video identified Vitale using the card at a Mahoningtown business.

•Charged. Rudolph M. Aldridge Jr., 39, of 414 Young St. was charged with theft, receiving stolen property and public drunkenness after allegedly taking a case of malt liquor from a Hamilton Street business about 12:20 a.m. Thursday.

•Charged. Ashley Hedglin, 21, of 1808 Tony St., was charged with theft after allegedly taking three pairs of tennis shoes, valued at $380, and a $100 gift card when she moved out of a home on Vine Street Oct. 22.

•Charged. Vickie Lawson, 53, of 219 N. Beaver St., charged Thursday with causing false alarms and disorderly conduct for allegedly making multiple 911 calls and pulling the fire alarm.
