On the Record: Today’s births, police items and district judge reports

STATE


•Accident. Officers said a motorcycle ridden by Kimberly A. Darges, 49, of Bethel Park, went down on McConnell’s Mill Road at the intersection of Mount Hope Furnace Road at 1 p.m. Saturday. Another motorcycle ridden by Bridgett A. Burns, 42, of Pittsburgh, also went down as she trying to avoid Darges’ disabled bike. Police said both women reported moderate injuries and were taken to Allegheny General Hospital.

•Accident. Police said Gary L. Hutchinson, 42, of Enon Valley, was driving west on Haggerty Road in Little Beaver Township around 9 p.m. Thursday when his car was sideswiped by an unidentified car that crossed the center line of the highway and didn’t stop. No injuries were reported. The left rear tire on Hutchinson’s vehicle went flat.

•Accident. Mary J. Schwarz, 46, of New Castle, was driving east on Interstate 376 about 7:35 a.m. on Nov. 11 when she hit a deer, police said. She sustained minor injury. Her car was disabled and the deer died.

•Accident. Police said a pickup truck driven by Krystal M. Rocco, 25, of New Castle, left the road, struck a fence rolled over and hit several mailboxes after she failed to negotiate a curve on Edinburg Road in North Beaver Township around 10 p.m. Sept. 5. No injuries were reported. Police said Rocco was cited for DUI, careless driving and traffic violations.

 NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP

•Burglary. Jewelry and other items were reported stolen from a Meyer Avenue house between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday.

•Sarah Marie Wrzesinki, 25, of New Castle, charged by the New Castle Area School District with compulsory school attendance violation.

New Castle police charged the following:

•Wendy Quear, 32, of New Castle, simple assault and harassment.

•Brian K. Arrow, 44, of New Castle, simple assault and harassment.

•Michael J. Rubin III, 53, of New Castle, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Anthony D’Ambrosia, 23, of New Castle, impersonating a public servant, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Jason Edward Lambright, 23, of New Castle, two counts of defiant trespass.

•William Carter Knight, 28, of New Castle, terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and harassment.

•Richard Kohlmetz, 46, of New Castle, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Joseph Michael Brown, 56, of New Castle, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Ana Martinez, 57, of New Castle, disorderly house.

•Guy Lieske, 53, of New Castle, disorderly house.

•Leon Platt, 26, of Rochester, Pa., charged by Ellwood City police with possession of firearm prohibited, firearms not to be carried without a license and recklessly endangering another person.

•William J. Cunningham, 36, of New Castle, charged by state police with harassment.

•Jesse Demond Harris, 33, of New Castle, charged by New Castle police with obstructing the administration of law or other government function and giving false identification to a law officer.

•Terrence D. McCaster, 22, of New Castle, charged by Union Township police with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

State police charged the following:

•Krystal Marie Rocco, 25, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of driving an unregistered vehicle, disregarding traffic lane, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and failure to use safety belt.

•Wanda Arlene Lockley, 60, of New Castle, charged by Hickory Township police with retail theft and defiant trespass.

Shenango Township police charged the following:

•Andrea Jo Atwell, 35, of New Castle, retail theft and defiant trespass.

•Charles A. Puz, 48, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence.

•Leslie L. Wawryznski, 48, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence.

•Scott A. Sloan, 40, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence.

    A Mahoningtown man is accused of intentionally causing more than $4,000 damage to another man’s car.

    A New Castle woman will be cited for failing to stop in time to avoid striking a stopped school bus. Neshannock police said Mary Clause struck the Neshannock bus, which had stopped in the 1800 block of Pulaski Road about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

  • North Hill man faces stalking charges

    A North Hill man is facing charges for allegedly stalking a neighbor who complained he has been watching her. New Castle police have charged Donald Dean Crews, 53, of 228 E. Fairmont Ave. with two counts each of stalking and harassment.

    A Wayne Township man is lodged in the Lawrence County jail, accused of raping a 14-year-old girl. Steven Louis Haynes, 61, of 4626 Ellwood Road was charged by state police in an alleged incident that occurred in February or April of last year at his home.

    A city police fire marshal said he hasn’t ruled yet on a blaze that ravaged two Taylor Street houses. Chris Fabian, who was at the fire scene for the duration Monday morning, said the blaze that displaced three families started in the back of a yellow, two-story duplex at 602 Taylor St.

    A Sheep Hill man is in the county jail after allegedly threatening to kill a woman with a pipe bomb. New Castle officers and three members of the Pittsburgh police bomb squad went to the tan and brick two-story house at 116 W. Balph Ave. Monday to look for Daniel William Wilson, 36, who lives there.
