NEW CASTLE —
Two men were arrested after they were seen dismantling an air conditioning unit at the former Hoss’ restaurant.
Jeremiah G. Baker, 32, of 815 N. Ashland Ave., and Steven P. Coast, 20, of 1146 Lakewood-Neshannock Falls Road, Volant, are charged with theft, attempted theft, criminal conspiracy to commit theft and criminal mischief.
Neshannock police said the men were seen around 1:30 p.m. Nov. 5 trying to take apart a commercial, roof-mounted air conditioning unit from the former restaurant at 2409 Wilmington Road.
Police said they contacted the property owner who told them no one had permission to remove anything from the building.
Both were arraigned before District Judge Scott McGrath who set each of their bonds at $2,500. Baker posted bail and was released.
Coast remains in the Lawrence County jail.

UPDATE: Man injured in fall at McConnell’s Mill
An Ohio man was injured in a fall at McConnell’s Mill State Park Monday afternoon. Cody Captain, 26, of Struthers, was visiting the park with a cousin, Sean Robertson, and taking photos at Kildoo Falls when he fell about 15 to 20 feet.

A Mahoning Township man involved in a weekend shooting has died. Joseph Lupo, 50, of 4812 W. Main St. in Hillsville was pronounced dead Thursday by the Mahoning County, Ohio, coroner’s office.

Broken jaw leads to assault charge
A Pittsburgh man has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly breaking another man’s jaw in New Wilmington. Matthew Vincent Wagner, 22, was charged by New Wilmington police as the result of an incident early May 5 at the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity house on Waugh Avenue.
