NEW CASTLE —
A program on seismic testing, pipeline agreements and leasing will be offered three times next week.
Penn State Extension and the Beaver-Lawrence Farm Bureau will present the program Tuesday in New Castle. It will be presented two more times on Thursday in Beaver County.
The New Castle session will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ben Franklin Learning Center, 815 Cunningham Ave.
Thursday’s sessions are 1 to 3 p.m. at the Beaver County Extension office at 1000 Third St., Beaver, and 7 to 9 p.m. in the auditorium of the Student Union Building at the Penn State Beaver Campus.
There is a $10 charge for the session and pre-registration is required because of limited seating.

Dan Brockett and Jon Laughner, Penn State Marcellus Education Team educators will provide a description of seismic testing agreements and pipeline agreements — what they are, why they are needed and what options may be available for landowners.

Authority to vote on Citigroup for track bond issue
A county authority will vote publicly on an underwriter for a revenue bond issue for a proposed racetrack. The Lawrence County Industrial Development Authority will meet at 10 a.m. April 24 at the Lawrence County Economic Development Corp. office to act on the county commissioners’ recommendation of Citigroup Global Markets Inc. as the lending institution for a revenue bond.

Citigroup to underwrite county’s track financing
Citigroup has been chosen to underwrite the county’s share of financing for the racetrack/casino proposed for Mahoning Township. The bank will issue bonds or notes to finance part of the $400 million project proposed for Lawrence County.

Ohio’s demands to delay Penn National progress
Penn National Gaming will have another six months to meet Ohio Racing Commission demands. In a special meeting yesterday, commission members asked Penn National to redesign the $125 million racetrack set for Austintown.
