Public can participate in transportation plan

NEW CASTLE — The public is invited to register for the first online public meeting involving Pennsylvania’s 12-year transportation program.

The meeting will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The purpose of the session is to update the state’s 12-year transportation program, which guides transportation planning.

During the webcast, Barry J. Schoch, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation secretary and transportation commission chairman, will provide an update on state transportation issues and answer questions from registered participants.

The 12-year transportation program is updated every two years through the Pennsylvania Transportation Commission, PennDOT and 23 regional planning partners.
