NEW CASTLE —
The Senate has passed legislation to name the Ellwood City post office for Sgt. Leslie H. Sabo Jr.
The House previously passed companion legislation, and now the measure goes to the president for his signature.
Sabo, an Ellwood City native, died in combat on May 10, 1970, in Cambodia.
President Barack Obama presented Sabo’s widow, Rose Mary Sabo-Brown, with his posthumous Medal of Honor in May for bravery exhibited in battle. Sabo’s actions were credited with saving the lives of several of his fellow soldiers.
