Forums set for congressional candidates

NEW CASTLE — The two candidates for the 12th congressional district will participate in two forums Wednesday and Thursday.

U.S. Rep. Mark Critz, a Democrat, and Keith Rothfus, a Republican, will square off at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium at Penn State Beaver Campus, 100 University Drive, Monaca.

The free event is sponsored by the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce.

The two candidates will meet in a forum at 8 a.m. Thursday at The Chadwick, One Wexford Square, 10545 Perry Highway, Wexford.

The candidates will make presentations, followed by a question-and-answer period.

Admission fee is $15 for members and $20 for non-members.

The event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce Inc., SMC Business Councils and the Manufacturer and Business Association.

The 12th District includes the southern portion of Lawrence County and stretches through Beaver, Allegheny, Armstrong, Westmoreland, Somerset and Cambria counties.
