NEW CASTLE —
Zambelli Fireworks has undergone a change in its management structure.
George Zambelli, board chairman, issued a prepared statement saying Doug Taylor, the company’s chief executive officer, has decided to “step down” because of other commitments.
“We thank him for his efforts and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” Zambelli said.
The company hired Taylor in 2007.
Under his direction, the fireworks firm implemented numerous changes, Zambelli said, including new customer relations management and accounting software with integration of a complex inventory control system. This was in addition to expanding the operations at the New Castle facility and throughout the United States “during these trying economic times.”
Zambelli said he and other board members, including Ed Meyer, Gary McKnight and Dick McDonald, will manage the company “with our dedicated and loyal staff of Zambelli employees, some who have been with the company for over 40 years.
“We at Zambelli look forward to continuing to build the infrastructure supporting our growth, improving operations, while at the same time creatively exhibiting the superior quality shows that Pittsburghers and others around the country have learned to love.”
