NEW CASTLE —
The Lawrence County Council of Community Services has announced its schedule of programs for the 2013-14 year.
The first will be Thursday with the topic: Community Revitalization Efforts in Lawrence County.
The council’s programs all take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on the third Thursday each month at the Jameson South Conference Center.
Although the sessions are open to the public, membership contributions of $50 per year are requested to attend the panel discussions.
Those making the contribution — which are due Oct. 31 — are eligible to receive free advertising, free and reduced professional development opportunities and recognition as part of the council.
The Council of Community Services is an organization of local agencies seeking to improve communication and cooperation. It’s designed as a resource for community planning and action to address health and human needs.
For the monthly programs, breakfast can be purchased.

•Oct. 17 — Greater New Castle Christian Ministerium Fellowship. (This session will be at Butler County Community College’s Lawrence County site.)
•Nov. 21 — Navigating the legal system in Lawrence County
•Dec. 19 — Holiday network event
•Jan. 16 — Housing networks
•Feb. 20 — Youth networks
•March 20 — Meet the funders
•April 17 — Supporting local
•May 15 — Mental health services in Lawrence County
•June 19 — Celebrating collaborations and planning for the future.
