NEW CASTLE —
The Pulaski supervisors set the wages for township employees at their reorganization meeting.
This year’s wages are as follows, with 2013 wages in parentheses:
•Secretary-treasurer — $13.25 ($12.75) ;
•Road department workers Class “A” l — $17.75 ($17.25)
•Road department workers Class “B” — $16.95 ($16.45)
•Road department workers, part-time — $10:30 to $15.60 ($10.00 to $15.30)
•Police officer in charge — $20.80 ($20.30)
•Full-time police officers ( 2)— $17.10 ($16.45)
•Part-time police officers — $16.30 to $17.10 ($15.00 to $16.45)
•Tax collector — $3,500 per year, no increase
•Solicitor, $160 per hour, no increase
•Zoning hearing board solicitor, $100 per hour, no increase.
Police officers and full time road workers are members of bargaining units and their contract determines their annual wages. Police belong to the Pulaski Township Police Officers Association and road workers belong to Teamsters Local 261.
Guy Morse was named emergency management coordinator at $650 annually, no increase.
Dominic Johnjulio was rehired to clean the municipal building at $90 per month with no change in wages.
Supervisor and township employees who use their personal vehicles for township business will be reimbursed at 56 cents per mile, same as 2013.
Township planning commission and zoning hearing board members will be paid $30 per advertised meeting and municipal authority members will be paid $45 per advertised meeting, unchanged from 2013.
Township employees who qualify for medical benefits but opt not to take them will be paid $300 per month, same as in 2013.
Taylor Engineering and RAR Engineering were named as township engineers according to their fee schedules. Mourice Waltz Planners and Consultants were rehired at $400 per month to do sewage enforcement and other work.
Sam Varano was named chairman of the supervisors and Lori Sniezek, vice chairman.
The supervisors regular meetings will be at 7 p.m., the first Monday of each month except in March and September, when they will be on the second Monday.
