Number listed for finding lost dogs

NEW CASTLE — The non-emergency department of 911 will be backing the Lawrence County treasurer’s office for those finding lost, licensed dogs.

According to the treasurer’s office, the non-emergency number to call is (724) 656-9300. Someone will be available there after hours, on weekends and holidays should anyone need information on a lost dog.

During regular business hours at the courthouse — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays — the county treasurer’s office can be reached for that information.

Starting with the 2015 dog licenses, the non-emergency number will be stamped on the back, along with the number for the county treasurer’s office.

Treasurer Richard Rapone noted that 2014 dog licenses are still available for dogs 3 months old or older at his office or through the county’s website: www.co.lawrence.pa.us. They also are available at Critter Corner, Pet Parlor and Grand Paws.
