Homeless man facing drug charges

NEW CASTLE — A homeless man is wanted on drug charges stemming from a domestic disturbance call on the city’s North Hill.

Dewon R. Harper, formerly of 218 W. Lincoln Ave., faces one count each of possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

New Castle officers said they walked into the residence and saw an extended 4 mm handgun magazine loaded on a table in the living room and a marijuana cigarette in an ashtray next to it. Harper was at the residence and told police he had sold the gun that went with the magazine.

Police searched the apartment and found a second box of ammunition in a bag next to the front door, and a bag of marijuana and heroin was found in a kitchen drawer. A digital scale also was found in the kitchen, according to police.
