NEW CASTLE —
Columbia Gas is reminding customers the first step to lowering home energy bills is identifying where a house loses energy.
Columbia’s WarmWise Audits and Rebates program provides help for customers to better manage their energy use and gas heating costs by reducing natural gas consumption.
WarmWise Audits and Rebates is available for Columbia heat customers whose household income is between 151 and 250 percent of the federal income guidelines. The program provides eligible customers with a free diagnostic energy assessment and upfront rebates toward the installation of select measures recommended during the audit.
Customers also can choose to take advantage of up to $1,800 in financial incentives for audit-recommended energy-saving improvements, such as efficient heating equipment, insulation, air sealing, and a natural gas water tank.
“We are hopeful that more customers will become aware of the program and take advantage of the free energy efficiency benefits to use gas more wisely,” said Patty Terpin, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania customer programs manager.
Columbia reminds its customers that half their monthly bill is the cost of natural gas, which Columbia passes directly to customers on a dollar-for-dollar basis, with no markup or profit. The greatest opportunity for customers to reduce their monthly bill is through weatherization and energy efficiency.
Additional customer assistance and energy efficiency programs are available for qualified customers. Customers can learn if they qualify for WarmWise Audits and Rebates by calling (866) 956-0308 or by visiting www.ColumbiaGasPA.com.
