Michael E. 'Butch' Beck

Michael E. “Butch” Beck, 62, of 3968 New Castle Road, Pulaski, died the morning of Dec. 19, 2005, in Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

Born March 31, 1943, in New Castle, he was a son of the late William S. and Gertrude I. Kline Beck.

He married the former Rose Ann Ronyak on Oct. 7, 1972. She survives.

Mr. Beck was retired from Local 66, District 2 in Youngstown, where he had worked as an operating engineer.

He was a graduate of Wilmington High School.

Mr. Beck enjoyed painting, fine arts and woodworking.

He wrote for several racing publications and was an announcer at Sharon Speedway.

Mr. Beck was a member of Barnstone Ministries in New Bedford.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Michele L. Wright of Knox, Pa.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Judy Beck, and Nuit and Norma Beck, all of New Bedford; and two grandchildren, Hayley Sue Smith and Brent Michael Wright.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Bill Beck, pastor of Barnstone Ministries and Mr. Beck’s brother, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, New Bedford.
