Lydia L. Amabile

Lydia L. Amabile, 89, of Cunningham Avenue, died the morning of Aug. 5, 2009, at her residence.

Born Sept. 6, 1919, in Volant, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni “John” and Pasquetta DiGianvito Fascetti.

She married Carmen B. Amabile in 1941. He survives.

Mrs. Amabile was a homemaker and in her earlier years she worked as a gold liner at the former Shenango China.

She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

Lydia was a member of St. Vitus Church.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Gloria Johns and her husband, Richard, of Miraloma, Calif., and Marilee Mohr and her husband, Edward, of Phoenix; a brother; John Fascetti and wife, Alice, of New Castle; a sister, Della Meyers of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Lynn Nemati, Laurie Williams, Todd Mohr and Brett Mohr; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Fascetti, and a sister, Amelia Muzi.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vitus Church. The Rev. James Gretz will officiate. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday for the church. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
