Albert W. Leasure Sr.

Albert W. Leasure Sr., 84, of 318 Rhodes Place died the afternoon of Dec. 22, 2007, in Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born June 5, 1923, in New Castle, he was a son of the late James E. and Grace E. Clark Leasure.
He married the former Vivian L. Smith in 1946. She died Dec. 9, 2000.
Mr. Leasure was a bulldozer operator for Ambrosia.
He attended Union High School.
Mr. Leasure was an Army veteran and served in the 7th Armored Division during World War II. He was a prisoner of war, and was awarded an oak leaf cluster and the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Washington Union Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Cyndi L. Paquet of Stratham, N.H.; five sons, Albert W. Leasure Jr., Daniel J. Leasure and Randolph W. Leasure, all of New Castle, Curtiss L. Leasure of Mansfield, Ga., and William R. Leasure of Oxford, Ga.; one brother, Russell Leasure of Hawaii; two sisters, Anna Gregor and Grace Thompson, both of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Leasure; four brothers, James Leasure, Lester Leasure, Paul Leasure and Don Leasure; and a sister in infancy, Elizabeth Leasure.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Ted Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
