Albert A. Agostinelli Sr., 85, of First Street, Ellwood City, formerly of Golf Avenue, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in Evergreen Nursing Home, Harmony.
Born April 22, 1922, in Beaver Falls, he was a son of the late Carlo Nunzio and Yolanda Angelilli Agostinelli.
He was married for 57 years to Mary Margaret Masuelli Agostinelli, who died May 1, 2003.
He retired from U.S. Steel, Elcast in Ellwood City. He also owned and operated A&L Vending in Ellwood City.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theater, where he received two bronze stars.
He was a lifetime member of the Sons of Italy in Ellwood City.
Mr. Agonstinelli was a member of Holy Redeemer Church.
He was the consummate family man.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Albert Jr. and Robyn Agostinelli of New Castle; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Ramona “Cookie” and William Lemanski, Maria Linville, Patty and Harry Hazen, and Pam Kaldy and Joe Clark, all of Ellwood City; a sister, Louise Lordi of West Chester, Pa.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Colleen Agostinelli of Ellwood City, and Raymond and Rose Agostinelli, and Edward and Linda Agostinelli, all of State College; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Casey and Pat Steckman, Albert and Denise Agostinelli, Adrienne Agostinelli, Julie and Kevin Dambach, Amy and Erik Barlow, Mark and Megan Linville, Nicole Linville, Jessica and Natt Sommers, Kelly Hazen, Jenna Kaldy and Jodi Iddings; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Redeemer Church. A military service will be performed by the Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
