Ida M. Hilton

Ida M. Hilton, 86, of 1115 Willowbrook Road died the night of Nov. 27, 2007, in Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born March 2, 1921, in Kewanee, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Abraham and Jamila Rashid.
She married Robert Hilton on Nov. 11, 1947. He survives.
Mrs. Hilton had been a clerk at the Lawrence County Courthouse, the former Ward Baking and at Keystone Lawrence.
She was a 1940 graduate of New Castle High School.
Mrs. Hilton belonged to the Shenango Boosters and the former St. Francis Auxiliary, was a Shenango Area Lioness, and a volunteer at the Lawrence County Blind Association and walked the visually impaired at Pearson Park. She also volunteered for many other organizations.
She loved dancing.
Mrs. Hilton was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and George Pilner of New Castle; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. and Debbie Hilton of New Castle; a brother, Carl Rashid of New Castle; two sisters, Pauline Sheban of Boardman and Carol Adams of New Castle; three grandchildren, Robert A. Hilton and his wife, Amy, and Elliott J. Hilton, all of New Castle, and Ian M. Pilner of Denver; and two great-grandchildren, Brady Hilton and Connor Hilton, both of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kelly Rashid; and a sister, Lorice Rashid.
No calling hours are planned.
A private family service was conducted today at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road. The Rev. Douglas Hughes of Third Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial is in Graceland Cemetery.
