Richard A. “Rick” Durbin

Richard A. “Rick” Durbin, 49, of Village Drive, Wayne Township, Ellwood City, died at the home of his sister, Eleanor, on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 12, 1958, in New Castle, he was a son of the late David A. and Eileen McCormick Durbin.
Mr. Durbin formerly was a postal worker in the bulk mail center in Cranberry Township. He then worked at the former Ames Department Store in Ellwood City.
He was a member of the Eagles Club and VFW post in Ellwood City.
Survivors include a son, Richard A. Durbin Jr. of Ellwood City; a daughter, Melissa Durbin of Ellwood City; six sisters, Rosemary Serratore of New Jersey, Susan Cox of Ellwood City; Eleanor Isabella, Vicky Reynolds and Sarah Price, all of New Castle, and Patty Caliguire of Ohio; four brothers, David A. Durbin Jr. of Florida, Robert E. Durbin of Ellwood City, Francis B. Durbin of New Castle and James L. Durbin of Staten Island, N.Y.; three half-sisters, Shirley Bacic of Koppel, Irene Mariacher of Ohio and Deanna Durbin of Pittsburgh; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City.
A service will be conducted at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
