John J. Dukovich

John J. Dukovich, 86, of Clyde Street, Wampum, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, the anniversary of his wedding date, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a short illness.
Born Dec. 3, 1920, in Wampum, he was a son of the late Vinko and Sophia Zalesnak Dukovich.
He was married to Helen J. Kolodziej Dukovich. She died Dec. 23, 1995.
John retired in 1982 from the Medusa Cement Co., where he was an electrician.
He was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish in Wampum.
An Army Air Corps veteran, he served in World War II.
He was a member of American Legion Post 749 in Wampum, a former member of the Wampum Lions, New Beaver Borough Volunteer Fire Department, K. Pulaski Club in New Castle and Chewton Polish White Eagles.
He enjoyed dancing at SNPJ.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dr. John R. Dukovich of Wampum, and Randy and Karen Dukovich of Frankenmuth, Mich.; two grandchildren, Julie Dukovich and Ryan Dukovich; three sisters, Mildred Doutt of Moravia, Sophia Risko of Ellport and Helen Tita of Koppel; and a brother, Joseph Dukovich of Chewton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vinko Dukovich and Robert Dukovich; and a sister, Barbara Benn.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St., Wampum.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Heaven Parish in Koppel. Military rites will be observed by the Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Madonna Cemetery, New Castle.
