The Rev. Vincent LaGatta

The Rev. Vincent LaGatta, 90, of Orchard Park Drive, formerly of 924 E. 99th St., Brooklyn, N.Y., went to be with the Lord the night of Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, in his home.
He was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Brooklyn, a son of the late Luigi and Maria Parillo LaGatta.
He was married to the former Angela Genna who went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2005.
The Rev. LaGatta was an ordained minister of the Christian Church of North America. He was the pastor of the Christian Church of Canarsie in Brooklyn for more than 40 years.
He also worked as a cement contractor in New York and was the oldest living member of his cement union.
The Rev. LaGatta was an Army veteran of World War II serving stateside as a medic.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Louis A. Sr. and Diane LaGatta of New Castle, and the Rev. Ronald Sr. and Luan LaGatta of Oroville, Calif.; a son-in-law, the Rev. Nathaniel Saginaro of Langhorne, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Marie Saginaro of Yardley, Pa.; three brothers, Joseph LaGatta and Ronald LaGatta of Brooklyn, and Dominick LaGatta of Patchogue, Long Island; and a sister, Jean Insinga of Patchogue.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. A visitation and service will be conducted Sunday at the Guarino Funeral Home, 9222 Flatlands Ave., Brooklyn. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y.
