VA Butler Healthcare will host an Open House at the Abie Abraham VA Health Care Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the main lobby to kick off Veterans Month at the VA.
“Every year on Nov. 11, VA joins the rest of the nation in officially celebrating Veterans Day. However, for those of us at VA, we want to recognize our Veterans every day. They deserve it,” said David P. Cord, VA Butler Healthcare’s director. “This year, we’re dedicating the month of November as ‘Veterans Month’ and plan to recognize both our Veteran patients and Veteran staff members all month long.”
The Open House Event on Thursday will provide Veterans and their family members with the opportunity to visit the new facility, which opened in September, talk to VA staff, learn more about VA health care programs and services, VA benefits, and the new Veterans Health Information Cards. Light refreshments will also be available.
Following the Open House Event, additional events, recognitions, speaking engagements and more will be held throughout the month to recognize Veterans. Veterans and the community can learn more about any public events by visiting VA Butler’s web calendar and Facebook page.
