St. Vitus Church had some special visitors at the Nov. 1 All Saints’ Day Mass.
All Saints’ Day is a celebration of all Christian saints and a holy day of obligation for Roman Catholics. In preparation for this special day, every St. Vitus School student in kindergarten through eighth grade researched a favorite saint. A number of the children chose to dress as their saint and marched in procession to begin the litany for the celebration of the feast.
A few robed students were interviewed by the Rev. Zachary Galiyas, the Mass celebrant, during his homily. They identified their saint and recited his patronage and feast day.
The school’s cantor choir guided the music for the congregation and several of the school students also participated by offering readings and petitions.
