NEW CASTLE —
Kindergarten and pre-kindergarten registration continues Thursday and Friday for the New Castle school district.
Registrations are being taken at the Harry W. Lockley Early Learning Center, 900 E. Main St. between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
To register for pre-kindergarten, a child must be 4 years old by Sept. 1. To register for kindergarten, the child must be 5 years old by Sept. 1.
Parents are to take their child for registration. Developmental screenings will be administered to determine the child’s readiness for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten.
The following information will be needed to enroll a child: birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency. That includes a mortgage, lease or current utility statement. A driver’s license cannot be used as proof of residence.
If a child attends pre-kindergarten at Croton school, he or she does not need to register for kindergarten. The records will be transferred automatically to kindergarten.
