Photo Gallery, Video Highlights: County’s marching bands show their stuff at annual festival

NEW CASTLE — All the scores Wednesday night at Taggart Stadium were of the musical variety rather than touchdowns.

The home of New Castle High’s football team was the site of the 33rd annual Lawrence County Marching Band Festival. Laurel High School, under the direction of Nathan Daubenspeck, was the host band.

Other groups and their directors were Ellwood City, D. Lee Caldwell Jr.; Mohawk, Ashley Graziani; Neshannock, Kim Heim; New Castle, Nicholas Yoho; Shenango, Doug Butchy; Union, Mark Godwin; Wilmington, Jonathan Nickel; and Westminster College, Dr. R. Tad Grieg.

Each band performed its halftime show, then all nine joined together to perform “America the Beautiful” as a finale.
