NEW CASTLE —
No students were injured in an accident Friday afternoon involving a Mohawk school bus.
According to superintendent Kathy Kwolek, the accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Martin Kelly Spears Road in Mahoning Township.
A car struck the bus, which was carrying about nine elementary students, near the intersection with Churchill Road.
Kwolek said personnel from Noga Ambulance were sent to the scene to examine the children, but none was injured.
Parents also were contacted, Kwolek said, and some who lived near the accident site arrived to take their children home.
Kwolek said she understands the driver of the vehicle that hit the bus was to be cited.
