Franklin Regional stabbing victim with local ties goes home

Fund established for stabbing victims, school

Donations are being accepted for the Franklin Regional High School students injured in the April 9 stabbings.

Police said 21 people were injured when a 16-year-old student, armed with kitchen knives, went through the school randomly slashing students in the hallway.

Community leaders established a “We Are FR Fund.” Proceeds will be used to help families of the injured students meet medical and travel expenses not covered by insurance, to meet student and staff needs related to the incident, and for long term recovery for the district. If money remains, a scholarship fund may be established.

Donations may be made to: S&T Bank, 4251 Old William Penn Highway, Murrysville, Pa. 15668. Checks should be made out to “We Are FR.” The bank may be reached at (724) 325-3600.
