NEW CASTLE —
What makes a person beautiful? I look forward to the annual release of the Oxford Dictionary's word of the year with far more voracity than even a nerd like me should really be willing to admit publicly.
Do you celebrate the things you do have? A few weeks ago I asked you if you ever celebrated the green lights. I guess this is pretty close to the same question, but since it's Thanksgiving week, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask again.
What life lessons did you have to experience firsthand before you fully understood them? I could easily make a list of the lessons life has taught me. But hey, why just say it when I can do it?! I could probably get to 100, but I know by 20 you'll be sucked into that car ad at the side of the page, so I'll do us both a favor and stop there.
Do you ever celebrate the green lights? If you've lived in New Castle for even one day, you know we have more than our fair share of traffic lights. I'm all for safety, believe me, but come on, some of those lights are bit ridiculous.
How honest are you with yourself? I like to think I live a life of integrity. That probably means different things to different people, so let me explain. To me, living with integrity means that you always try to do the right thing, and never intentionally hurt anyone.
What is the best advice you have ever received? Advice is everywhere. Some of it good, and some of it not so good. Some of it sought out, and some of it unsolicited. But it's there, everywhere you go, from well-meaning friends and family members, on Internet memes and in fortune cookies, and even flying down the road on the side of a bus.
What stands between you and happiness? In order to answer this question, I think you first have to define what, exactly, happiness means to you. It's not usually a simple answer, once you really thinking about it.
What is your most beloved childhood memory? I know that the really cool and super-enlightened answer to this would be something deep and meaningful, like "time spent with my family" or "the scar I got on my forehead the day I saved a family of baby raccoons from drowning in a sewage grate."
When is love a weakness? I’ve avoided this question in my blog for a very long time. But like all things, there comes a time when you can no longer avoid something, no matter how tempting it is to smoosh it down inside of you and pretend it isn't there.
When was the last time you lied? What did you lie about? I had to post this question this week because my friend and I had a discussion about this very same subject just yesterday.
