NEW CASTLE — A New Castle company’s giant parade balloons can be seen on TV this morning and Monday night.

Toni McKay of StarBound Entertainment will provide the perennial crowd favorites for the 32nd annual My Macy’s Holiday Parade, which stepped off at 9 a.m. today in Pittsburgh. It can be seen live on WPXI-TV.

A new project for StarBound came from the popular TV show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The program’s next episode, which airs at 9 p.m. Monday on ABC-TV, features the Watson family of Knoxville, Tenn., which not only adopted several children but also dedicated their lives to helping single mothers. StarBound was invited to help make the family’s dream come true.

Meanwhile, the company also is providing balloons for holiday parades from Kalamazoo, Mich., to Santiago, Chile.

StarBound’s giant parade balloons highlighted the Philadelphia Dunkin’ Donuts Parade on Thanksgiving morning and will be seen in the McDonald’s Christmas in Chicago Parade, which will feature Madeline and a beautiful Cornucopia. Jim Henson Company’s Sid the Science Kid will be traveling all the way to Beijing, China, for the Comicon event.

And the Paris Parade in Santiago, Chile, will debut a brand-new Tulio Trivino balloon and a Santa Claus balloon.

Other Starbound parade locations for 2012 include Johnstown; Stamford, Conn.; Norfolk, Va.; and Davenport, Iowa. However, McKay’s biggest thrill, she says, is having 14 balloons in the nationally televised Disney parade on Christmas morning.

“It is an honor,” she said, “to be able to provide this kind of entertainment to children of all ages from one to 99.”
