Warner Film Center vacation winners announced

NEW CASTLE — Rose Aven of New Castle picked the winning number in the Warner Film Center’s vacation sweepstakes.

Aven won a seven-night stay at Orlando, Florida’s Bonnet Creek Resort.

Other prize winners are Nick Schuler, of New Wilmington, who won a three-night stay in Nashville, Tenn., near Opryland, and  Aimee Jones, of Erie who  won a stay in the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.

These vacation packages were grand prizes of the first Warner Film Center fund-raising. All proceeds go directly to the Warners’ film birthplace construction and development fund.

The non-profit organization’s plans include re-establishing three small theaters, displays of life in the early 1900s and retail opportunities in 3,000 square feet of the Cascade Center at the Riverplex in downtown New Castle, according to Center president Jerry Kern.
